paranoid

ok when i have my foot in it. my car lays wheel in first
second comes on and it lays wheel again
now when i shift fast into third it feels like i am chirping the tires
and if i really push it then forth goes.

my tach doesn't jump up and the car doesn't slip anywhere else its just when i really get on it and right when i shift.

now is this at all possible with my car? or is my new clutch slipping? i have toyo f4z's, i know that was a mistake but please dont stray from the question.

If your clutch was slipping it wouldn't "lay wheels", IF "lay wheels" means spinning them.

How many miles are on your new clutch?

Are you sure that your burning out, or are you smelling clutch? To burn out in first and second I imagine you have some horsepower, with stock gears for me the top of first was 60 MPH.

yes laying wheel means spinning tire

about 400 miles on the clutch

when i say i spin 3rd and 4th its not like a 40 foot patch its just a little chirp.

i spin 3rd alot its quite easy, as long as i don't miss it.

4th spins every once in a while. i shift into 4th at about 92.

it doesn't take much power to spin second. my friends tercel did it.

and yes it only feels like the clutch is slipping at wot. really i just think i am paranoid. but i still have this urge to know. does anyone think it could be the clutch?

Trying to"Lay wheel" in fourth gear with 400 miles on a new clutch???????? I bet this isn't your first new clutch. Did you at least have a break in period for the clutch before you "layed wheel"???? I think you may have coined a new phrase tonite. LAYIN WHEEL

Thats what Im saying, one thats kind of early. But Im still stumped on how a car can even chirp the tires goin 90, Im not being cocky but I have a little more power than you and I can hardly do it into third without puttin the clutch in redlining it and dropping it. Maybe its cuz my tires dont make noise they just spin, but i can feel it when they do that, even when i had the saladshooters on with tires that sqeaked, no way 4th, third was easy. Oh well, might be something wrong, might not be, but there probly will be since you are bein that hard on your car with 400 miles on a new clutch, you gotta ease into it, good luck though.

You might want to put some tires on there so you can lay rubber instead of wheel. It seems like laying wheel could get quite expensive, especially if you like aftermarket wheels.

I don't have any experience with the Toyos, but they would really have to be pretty bad for you to chirp 4th. A friend of mine with a bolt on TA with a G92 T56(lower geared that yours) could chirp 4th with some cheap Daytona(I believe that's what they were) tires, but he has done pretty much everything you can do without going internal and has a Spec Stage 3 clutch. However, I'm not saying that you are chirping 4th isn't a possibility, just unlikely. If the clutch is slipping, you will know for sure before too long if you keep driving it hard. If you can borrow some better tires from a buddy or something, you could see if it's the tires or not. I hope it's just the tires, but good luck with it.

It's possible. My Z could do it on the stock Goodyears with only CIA, air foil, roller rockers, and flowmaster catback. but as soon as i got better tires, it stopped promptly. Also depends on the road you are driving on. there are some roads around here that will grab like tracbite, and some that are impossible to get traction on. if your clutch is slipping, you will notice a little lag after a shift, and rpms will jump, even if ever-so-slightly. trust me, I've now been through a stock clutch (5 or 6 months), Centerforce Dual Friction (3 months!!! NEVER BUY A DAMN CENTERFORCE!!!!!!), McLeod 450 horsepower clutch disc (6 months, pressure plate is still fine to this day! I love McLeod), and I can start to feel the custom kevlar clutch disc I have in it now slipping after nine months or so. So I know a thing or two about what a slipping clutch feels like. I've never powershifted the car, but suspension and tires are the first thing I did, and it hooks like crazy on the street.

thats kinda what it does but the rpm's don't go up. i just feel it in the seat of my pants. my friends in the car feel it too. you know when you grab second, when you just chirp them its the same feeling. im just scared i spent all this money and the clutch is slipping.

o ya wheels get expensive... that was funny.

the toyos are hard compound high heat rated suck *** tires. my friend has them on his 1.6 integra and he spinds second for about 2 seconds when he is on it. so thats just an idea of how much these tires suck.
