Pageing Taner, need help on 95 LT1

ok, I replaced both o2's, first code was open circuit, respliced with new wiring. now i am getting code 44, bank 1, left o2, lean... what could be the problem now?? the reason for having to splice the wires is because the wires got pinched between the motor and trans. Harold told me to ask you and you might be able to help, any would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

ok, i'm gonna try to sodder the wires together tomorrow, but i am not sure if that is my problem or not. plus, will moisture(condensation) in the connection effect the voltage going through the wires., if so i am gonna try to eliminate the connection completly. anybody have any other ideas or have encountered this problem before?
