Re: Pacesetter Long Tube install...

Mine took me 3 days to install I ended up having the car about 4 feet in the air to get them in there. I have had them in for a year now and notice that the ceramic coating is coming off

Re: Pacesetter Long Tube install...

Hmmmm.... after reading this whole thread, I'm actually thinking about changing my mind from MAC mids to these pacesetter LT. One question about the Y-pipe though. How does it connect to the cat? should I just scrap the cat all together and make the rest of the exhaust meet the Y-pipe? Does the Pacesetter get rid of the cat? What's this about gettin rid of the AIR system? I thought they sold headers with the option of keeping the AIR system. If they don't come with the AIR hookups I would assume they wouldn't come with EGR hookups. Kinda would like to keep the EGR.

You can get them either way. "Race only" has no air/egr fittings, but the regular ones do.

That's what I thought. I prolly should have just not been lazy and looked it up myself, but thanks. Anyone have any thoughts on how it hooks up to the rest of the exhaust?

The pacesetter y-pipe gets rid of the cat. You will have to do some fabing to keep a cat. Honestly I reccomend having a good exhaust shop make one from scratch, the p-setter one is kind of a b**** to fit but does work. Good luck. Also I have had mine for a year and the coating is fine.

Took me about 1 and a half hours, and no and no.

Better yet, buy the pacesetter y-pipe for around $130, and have a shop weld it on cheap... this in my case was usually a good amount cheaper than having a new y-pipe custom fabbed. Of course, make some calls around and question prices first...

That is what I did but the y-pipe pushes the exhaust over and is not a good fit. If I could do it again I would pay for a custom one insted of the p-setter one.
