P0118

My car is running rally rich and starts hard when it is hot, but starts easier when it is cold. I have already fouled a set of plugs in less than a couple hours of run time. Would a P0118 problem be causing my problem; that is the only code showing.

Re: P0118

The coolant temp sensor is telling the PCM the engine is cold. There's a good chance the PCM is fueling the engine for cold start and cold operation, which is much richer than for hot operation. Fix it fast before the excessive fuel starts to wash the oil off the cylinder bores and you destroy the rings.

Re: P0118

^ Thanks and yes I plan I fixing it asap; I don't want to hurt a motor that has less than 20mi on it. So is it the sensor in the water pump or head; I think it is the one in the water pump. It is amazing how a little problem with one sensor can screw up a motor; man is it ever running rich I guess it can dump a lot of fuel with the 30lb injectors it has.

Re: P0118

Fixed it turned out to be a bad wire going to the sensor in the water pump. I soldered it back together and now it runs 10x better.
