Overheating Problem?

Well this is my first post in this section! I have a 96 Z28. One of the problems that I am having with it is an overheating problem. Everytime I get in some traffic or drive it a few places during the day I start to overheat! It is the worst when I get stuck in traffic, it goes nuts! It has an electric water pump and I am wondering if something might be up with that or maybe a new thermastat? But it does not do it when I drive it at night or am not in traffic! It will be in the shop next week. I was just hoping to get some suggestions on what it could be. So hopefully by the end of next week it will be a cool running freshly dyno tuned Z!

Do you know if your radiator fans are working?

Give more details about temperature. It's normal for a car with electric fans to heat up when you stop.

You have an electric water pump so the first thing you should do would be to check the fuse for your water pump. There is a very good chance that is what the problem is and it would be the cheapest fix.
