Opti w/o vacuum lines

What happens if you run an LT1 motor opti without the vacuum lines connected? Does it screw-up the opti?

The opti will die prematurely.

You get no benefit that the vacuum lines provide.

The vent system is there to eliminate the ozone generated by the high votage discharge in the cap and rotor. Ozone causes corrosion, and damages rubber. A fringe benefit is the elimination of any moisture that may get past the flimsy seals.

how long will an opti last w/o the lines hooked up. I think I fried mine (see my other post) while waiting for the vacuum lines to arrive after I switched to a vented system. I am running the vacuum but having possible opti problems. Thanks!!

It's not something that would happen right away. It would take some time.
