Opti-spark iritation
Re: Opti-spark iritation
I would check plugs and wires first. If those check out then check your fuel pressue. All of those can lead to miss/backfire/loss of power "ignition related" problems. If you do narrow it down to your opti you have a few choices. First of all, check any codes you may have. If your throwing an opti code chances are your optical pickup is bad on the opti and the delteq system won't work, you'll be forced to replace the opti. If you don't have any codes and the plugs/wires check out then you might have gotten lucky and just need to replace the cap/rotor part of the opti, this is the part that usually goes out. If you need a cap/rotor you can either 1. Replace just the cap/rotor 2. Replace the entire opti 3. Convert to the delteq or LTCC system or throw a dynaspark on there. I chose option 3 with the delteq system because I replaced my entire opti 4 months ago and my cap/rotor went out on me. Since my opti is practically brand new, I knew the optical pickup was ok and decided to order the delteq system. You can order it from elitesparkplugs.com or direct from delteq themselves at delteq.com. I live in northern virginia and delteq is actually 15mins away from where I am so I picked it up locally and got to meet the guys. Very nice, very knowledgable and a great product. You won't be disappointed with delteq. Just my .02 Goodluck!
