A friend of mine has a 96 Z28 and is wondering if he has opti-spark. I told him I'm fairly positive that 95 was the last year for opti-spark but he wants proof. I think 100k+ miles on the engine and no opti-spark problems is a pretty good sign it doesn't have it.

 

after 95, they were changed to a vented opti... so they dont get messed up from the water pump being right over it...

all LT1s ahve opti, LS1s have coils :P

 

They got rid of it when they stopped making the LT1.
