Question Opti spark cap + silicon (yes or No)

Hey does anyone know if I am capable of putting silicon inside the base of the distributor cap to prevent moisture from creeping in and messing up my optispark system? And has anyone retrofitted the 95 + venteded opti on 93 - 95 unventi opti?

If yes any suggestion on where to get the accessories do this. I think shoebox has a schematic but I'm not too sure?

I also heard that you need to change some things around with the cam to change to a vented opti..

I run a vented Opti on my 94. But the parts list is extensive and costly:

I'd be careful with the "silicon".... if you put too much in, you are altering the spacing of the cap to the rotor. And, the source of the leaks that caused many failures is the harness connector seal.

Thank you very much for your info, your detailed info helped me out alot I'm gonna have an easier time diescting my opti apart now that you sent me that web page.

I'm gonna try to clean mine first, even though I will still buy a new opti, what was the whole OOPS about with your cleaning on yours?

Do you think I should replace the o-ring on the water pump shaft before I re-install?
