Re: opti-spark

The optispark is the distributor and they wear like any other one would. Due to the placement at the front of the engine, it is a little hard to get to and sometimes more sensitive to getting wet. 93-94 optis can be had for ~$320 and 95-97s for ~$220.

The rears are not the strongest, but can hold up better with an automatic transmission.

Re: opti-spark

i guess im the wrong person to responde to this one but, I just replaced my Opti & had new gears/ rear diff overhaul done in the same month. However comma, now that they are new it should be quite sometime before either go bad again. F-body's are great cars and just like any other sports car they have to be maintained. I drive a 96 LT1 and love it to death. You can beat an Lt1 to death and they keep on ticking ( except for when your lock out mechanism goes bad in the shifter and you accidentaly go from drive to reverse at 55 mph)
