Opti rebuild problem...need help fast

The opti i got was the kit through autozone (95 vented) and put my cap (93) on it so i saved some money and can use it with the new cam and timing set. well I put it on the motor to see how it fit and if eberything lined up. I pulled it back off and the drive wheel culled out of the opti. The two rubber seals in the nose held it to the block and the wheel that the dowel pin goes in came out as well as the nose that goes into the opti. Well I was looking at it and there is no grooves or keyways where it was pressed into the opti. How will the spark be in time because now the opti isnt in time with the engine. On the 93 opti there was a geared pin that only went in one way so the opti would never be out of time with the cam. I understand that there is a spot on the opti that the pin goes in and that's how it stays in time but that whole peice is what came out. The opti can now be turned before this part is put back in and throw the whole timing off. Now what should I do. Hoping to put in the new motor in about 5 days so I don't have much time. I don't know how to get the opti back in time. What am I missing here???

someone has got to know this. Is this peice even supposed to come out...and if so how do you know how to put it back without throwing timing off. Shouldn't there be something keeping this on??????
