I had some problems last week and was talking to Pete, and to do a quick check for spark he had me remove both wires off of one coil at a time and crank it. Talk about a spark!

Hi yes I do but, I prefer not to becasue I have to charge you more becasue paypal wacks me with a ton of fees I think it's like 2% which is an extra $12--$15
That will bring the total of $619.90 this inculdes shipping and a $15 dollar to cover the fees for using pay pal.

Re: Opti direct ignition, YOU"VE GOT TO HAVE ONE OF THESE!

Hey, I just removed my opti/waterpump ect. I am looking into the Deteq system and it says you don't need to remove the opti just remove the plug wires. Could I relocate the part of the optispark that this system needs? Would I need to extend the wires with the plug that goes into the opti? Also when I removed the opti two of the black tubes that the plug wire goes into broke off, will I not need this anyways? and will these holes have to be plugged?

Re: Opti direct ignition, YOU"VE GOT TO HAVE ONE OF THESE!

Jeff... I believe all they are using is the low resolution pulse that feeds the PCM.. the unit itself must feed off that info as well and control the spark. So in short.. No you should not have to worry about the plug connectors being damaged.

As far as the wire going into the opti..I do not have this system so I maybe wrong on it using the optis low res. Anyone?

Hi Jeff,

Don't worry about the sparkplug wire tubes on the cap... those are not used because the spark plug wire connections are moved to the top of the engine. I hope this helps ..

Thx Jim
