Open headers Temporary exhaust?

I mean the sound is nice but extremly extremly loud, i can live with the loud but the no O2's thing is really bothering me, if i just ran pipes off the collector back a ways could i run the o2's or is there a reason there needs to be a x or a h in the piping to make it work? dont have much money just need something for now
oh and what pipe size?

its ok. i did it for about a week and from scanning it all the car was doing was running exremly rich because the 02s are right near the end of the collector and it gets a a touch of outside air and makes the pcm think that its running lean so it adds fuel and your really running rich because of a false lean.

dont worry about,
