If the engine spins when the key is turned, it is turning over.

its not hard to test the ignition system and find out exactly where the problem is.

It could be opti, coil, icm, etc...

93 its easy to flash the codes on the SES light.... why not start there rather than to take a poll on the Internet?

Have you ruled out things like:
-coil
-IC Module
-corrosion in Opti plug and coil wire terminals
-corroded Opti harness connectors

Does "getting gas" mean that he has verified the fuel pump will prime the system when the key is turned on, then shut down, waiting for the engine to start? Does that mean he has verified that the injectors are firing when it tries to start? Has he verified that the injectors are not leaking and flooding the engine, preventing it from starting? Has he tried putting the accel pedal on the floor to put it in "clear flood" mode.

its sounds like a opti... but if you know anything about LT1's, DO NOT CHASE THE PROBLEM, or trial and error the problem(I found out the hard way). I am a service advisor now and trust me, it will cost you less to just get it diag. from someone else and do the work afterward, or even have them do it.... take your pick.... $50-$100 for a diag... or just throw a part up to $300-$400(or maybe cheaper), do the labor, and hope it fixes it.... take your time...

Eh im all for diagnosing the problem but a lot of shops absolutly suck at diagnosing these lt1's

This does sound like the typical opti. IF the problem was there before and after the new plugs its almost for sure the opti. 250$ for the opti from jason/dal and i think the ICM is around 50$.

If the problem started after isntalling the new plugs and wires, the problem is that one of the plug wires is installed on the wrong number on the opti. Check all the wires to make sure that the #2 wire goes to the #2 on the opti... I crossed a whole side backwards once and it did that. HTH

OMG! We switched two plug wires once after a motor swap... that was the worst couple off days. "It could have been anything after a motor swap" and it turned out to be that....
