Okay, what could be the issue?

No it's not the opti!

Just reinstalled the engine (mild build LT1) with a remanned GM 4L60E. The car is a bolt on head/cam with 3200 stall (supercharger not installed yet). The only light on is the ABS, So the question......

The trans starts out in second and no matter what I do I can not get it into first. Is there a reason for this, maybe a limp mode or a bad trans computer? Could the stall be causing this or maybe the increased power without the dyno tune being done, confussing something....I am at a loss.

Update, I did replace the ECU if that makes a difference.

What codes show up with a scan? Trans codes don't light the check engine lamp.

The scanner I have does not go back that far (years). I figured maybe is was a common issue with a stall swap. Any guesses?

You need a "real" OBD-I scanner, or scanning software specifically for the 94/95 LT1. You can sometimes find decent older used Auto Xray OBD-I scanners on ebay.
