Unhappy Okay Guys! I'm really Stumped now!

Hi Guys!

I have a 1997Z28. 76Kmiles

Problem: It makes a popping noise in the exhaust while idling and the idle is a little rough.

Things I have Done: Replaced Opti-Spark, Spark Plugs and WIres, Replaced EGR Valve, Checked Fuel Pressure 39-40psi Idle and 46psi WOT. No Vacuum Leaks. Cleaned the Throttle Body and Mass Airflow Sensor. No Burned wires or Bad Plugs. Plugs are AC Delco!

What do you Guys Think I should do next????????????

Thanks Lee! You Help is Truly appreciated.

Your 97 OBD-II has misfire detection capability. Get a scanner on it. You should be able to retrieve the misfire counts for each cylinder. That will point you to the problem. Might be something like a bad injector, or a sticky valve.

Thanks Guys for your help!

It doesn't pop real bad just every non and then.

If you ease down on the gas to like 1500rpms it is still studdering and popping a little after that it disappears.

Injuneer!, What would be the best scanner to buy?

I think I need to invest in this!

Thanks Lee!
