Ok, two questions

First, what could possibly cause a car to almost die when AC is turned on max? the new T/A does it.

Second, if a bad rattle from the clutch is not present when clutch pedal is depressed, but can be heard only when clutch pedal is up, it's the throwout bearing, right?

Idle:

Sounds like the IAC valve (controls idle speed, in response to ECM commands) is not working correctly, or the passages in the TB or the IAC valve are plugged. A scan would tell you if the ECM is recognizing the A/C coming on and reacting properly by commanding the IAC valve to open, and whether the IAC valve is having any affect. Lacking a scan, try cleaning the IAC and the TB passages.

Rattle:

The input shaft on the T56 rattles a lot, so it could be T/O bearing, or it could be the "normal" t56 rattle.

Thanks on the IAC thing. I've got a new one to put in I believe. I just got the car from the trucking company today.

As for the rattle in the tranny, the car has mac headers, flowmaster pipes/dynomax muffler, hotcam and ported heads. I can hear the rattle over the exhaust at idle from 10 feet away.

Damn, you had it shipped all the way across the country? How much did that cost? I'm curious.

$935

But the freakin frustration. Oh the frustration.

First, the guy calls the previous owner and says he wants to pick up the car in two hours, a day early! Drama starts. Car doesn't get picked up for another 4 days. So I expect the car on Thursday next week instead of this Sunday.

Then, my bank sends out the cashiers check overnight. Fed Ex decided to signature require it. I don't get it. Note: I can only pay via money order or cashiers check.

Then, saturday night, I get a phone call at 7:30 saying they want to drop off the car sunday morning. Reak freakin convenient considering I have no way to get a money order for $935. My debit card isn't tied into the savings account with the extra funds, and NOBODY takes checks anymore.

I'm up to 3 am sunday morning looking for someone that takes checks, then I'm up at 7 am sunday morning doing the same. I finally go to base and sweet talk the BX bank into letting me get $500, but that's it.

Then my beater I'm driving starts dying.

finally I meet with the truck, and they won't take a personal check, even after all the inconvenience. And then the guy says he can do Paypal. Could have saved all the drama if he told me that in the first place.

Bastard.

I'm so glad I finally have the car though, now it's worth it.

But,

there's a small dent on the quarterpanel, and they put a gash in the sidewall of the passenger front tire. I can't even drive it now. Time for a claim with the company.
