Oil Weight

I'm located on Long Island, NY. I am currently using mobile 1 5w30, is this to thin? I know the car recommends 5w30 but I know it might be different with synthetics. Its a 1994 z28 with 70,000k.

5w30 is probably good for the cold winter but i would recommend swithcing to 10w30 once spring/summer comes along

They want 5w30 in there so the oil flows faster in the engine to prevent wear.
