MotorTrend: New Camaro 28% Stiffer
Motortrend: Structure of 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is 28 Percent Stiffer
Good article above.
The current Camaro is a fantastic car. The few faults it has, body rigidity is not one of them which is amazing when you consider its size and weight.
If Chevrolet has indeed made the new Camaro 28% stiffer while reducing its weight along with other rumored improvements, then they will have pulled off an impressive feat. Car of the year type of feat actually.
The next gen Camaro is shaping up to be a very special car.
Eat it Mustang.

Re: MotorTrend: New Camaro 28% Stiffer
Motor Trends awards are hokey, to say the least, but they can write a good article now and then though much of this article is generic press release stuff from GM. I grew up reading my dad's MT and Hot Rod mags.
Putting the Camaro on a diet and making it stronger is, dare I say, Porsche-esque with their 911 and many iterations. It's top quality auto making. Now whether it translates well onto the street, or better the track, remains to be seen. It is promising though. But like a unicorn it doesn't exist until it hits showroom floors.
Now if only they'd design it to look more like an early 2nd Gen Z/28...
