Oil pump for 383? What'd you use?
A stock unit oil pump from GM with the larger pickup will be your best bet. Forget high volume.
Make sure to get a oil pump drive shaft with a metal retainer, and not use the stock plastic one.
Stock pan will work fine, and might need some tappping depending you which crank brand you chose. No need for a bigger pan unless you are planning on extreme road racing .

The GM dealer will have the larger diameter oil pump and pickup.. They used 2 different pickups on the 1993-95 cars and I think the large style pickup was the only one used standard in 1996-1997.
The oil pump driveshaft/metal retainer can be found at almost any aftermarket parts stores.

Stock pump - blueprinted; large pickup - tack welded; 80psi spring (engine rev's to 7,000+RPM); stock pan with a few hammer dings. A buddy of mine successfully ran over 1,100flywheelHP on an LT1 with the same setup.
