My oil pressure when doing a cold start (70 degrees) is about 40psi, and when driving it is about 25 or so. Also when I stop hard the oil aparently sloshes to the front and my check gauges light comes on because the oil pressure drops to near zero. I have 150k on the motor, but do you think a heavier weight oil might help? Or could this be my oil pressure sending unit?

 

whats your pressure at idle? try changing the oil to heavier weight and see what happens, 150k on the clock is what you have to remember
