Clean your socket, check both bulbs (front and rear) and replace if needed, that should get it blinking again.

I'm not sure of the number. I misunderstood your question, I dont know what would keep the bulb lit all the time, sounds like it is getting constant juice. Electrical is not my thing.

Had the same problem years ago with a 79 Trans am, it was the turn signal switch in the steering column, just wanted to mention that to check. I could wiggle the turn signal lever and make light go off.

have you checked for any bad grounds? sometimes a bad ground will send juice to where it's not needed. just a suggestion

I doubt you have the correct bulb. When I had my '92, the manual insisted that the correct bulb replacement was like 1157 or something so I changed it to that and all my lights would be on (except headlights). I asked my friend that worked for Chevrolet as a mechanic and he said 1057 was the correct bulb for most of Chevy's cars. So I switched to that and problem went away. Surprised that the manual went out with that mistake.

Just double check to make sure you have the correct bulb before checking wires. In other words, don't go by what the manual says, just check the replacement guide where you buy it from, it should list the correct one.

Oh, and if your manual does state that it's a 1157, then the correct one IS a 1057 - believe me!

It's not the switch. It's the bulb. Trust me, and just replace the bulb. All will be well.

Hey Alex. I didn't have time to get to the auto parts store yesterday, but what did the 1157 bulbs do when you installed them? Did they just stay bright all the time?

Yes. However, I replaced both turn signals so what happened was once I turned the car on, my turn signals were on (very bright) along with my brake lights and side markers. This happened with the light switch off! As soon as I switched the bulbs out, all was back to normal.

The above happened to my '92 Camaro, not my '97. I'm sure there are alot of commanalities between the electrical systems in these cars but I'm sure there are some differences now. I would be pretty postive that your problem is the incorrect bulb and not a relay.
