oil pressure problems and possibly fuel pressure problem??
I have been trying to figure out what my problems are and just need some advice that can lead me in the right direction.
My car sat all winter and was started every couple weeks and ran fine. Last year when i was driving it i was having problems with the oil pressure and thats all. The oil pressure would be fine i think but after driving for awhile it would go to 0 and the check gauges light would come on. Everyone said to check the oil pressure and see what that says. I want to do that and when i do what should i be looking for exactly? I have read other peoples posts with similar problems and have read things such as pick up tube might of fell off, or oil pressure sensor sending unit are some things.
The oil pressure problem has been happening on and off again. But now i also have had a problem every once in awhile that happens on start up and sometimes while im driving. It will idle irraticly at start up and bog out occasionally. It usually goes away after awhile but sometimes wont and it will sputter when i am driving it when i hit the gas. Like it doesnt wanna go. I have heard this could be bad a bad fuel pump maybe? I was told to check the fuel pressure and when i do that what exactly should i be looking for? And if i check it will it matter if i check it when the car is acting normal and not acting bad like i stated? I just want to clarify these things and hope anyone can help me out. I have left a few other posts and no one has helped much. Figured id try again. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.. thanx

You need to check the accuracy of your dash oil pressure gauge by temporarily installing a mechanical pressure gauge. You should see at least 10psi for every 1,000RPM the engine is turning. At idle, the check gauges light comes on when the pressure drops below 6psi.
Intermittent fuel pressure problems are unusual. With the guage on the Schrader valve - at idle, remove the vacuum compensation line from the fuel pressure regulator. Pressure should be 43.5psi, with anything in the range of 41-47psi within GM specs. Reattach the vacuum line. Pressure should drop proportional to intake manifold pressure. About a 6psi to 8psi drop with a stock cam. Now tape the gauge to the outside of the windshield, and take it out on the road. Fuel pressure will vary over a range from low 30's (decellerating) to the pressure you measured without the vacuum line (full throttle).
It may not tell you its a fuel pressure problem unless it happens to be "acting bad".

good advice here^^
I assume since the car runs you are hearing the pump prime upon startup? Also, since the bogging issue didnt happen before winter, you might have some bad fuel. I would fill up with 93 octane and replace your fuel filter since its really cheap to do and could rule out some problems. Maybe some fuel system cleaner as well.

ya thank you for the advice i will do that..the pump does prime but i notice sometimes when i turn the car off i dont hear the same sound as always. i thought it was the pump powering down or something but whatever it is dont hear it all the time now for some reason. and i have put new 93 in it 3 times since driving it again since winter. my first fill up i put seafoam in and thats actually when the car started the bogging thing. it was idling wierd and bogged out on me in the parking lot after adding the can of seafoam to the fresh 93 i put in the tank..last time i used seafoam last year for the fuel it did not do this to me..
