Re: oil pressure........

20+psi at idle is more than adequate. I lot of people with high mile engines would be glad to see that much pressure. I wouldn't be concerned.

Re: oil pressure........

As Fred said 20psi isn't bad. I wouldn't worry about it.

Rule of thumb is 10psi per 1K rpm.

Re: oil pressure........

Yep you are fine, from my understanding GM says 6psi at idle is fine for LT1s. My engine however lost all oil pressure at a hot idle due to worn cam bearings. I have a new shortblock on the way. Engine had 109k on it, in a way it is good because now I will a have an engine with 0 miles on it.

Re: oil pressure........

I have low oil pressure when the car is hot at idle, it sits just below the 1/4 mark. I would guess 4psi. Is this dangerous?
I just did a rebuild.

Durning normal driving and at startup the pressure looks good/normal

If you just did a rebuild your oil pressure should be 10x that much.

The 1/4 mark is 20psi so just below isn't 4psi. If 4psi is right, yes it's dangerous. If it's at 20psi it's still not very good if you just did a rebuild.
