Do I need to change the oil pump
Hi I'm new to this site and I have a 1994 Chevy Camaro z28 with about 168,000 miles on it. When the car is at an idle the oil pressure is fine but when I give it gas the oil pressure drops, does the oil pump need to be changed?

oil pump itself rarely fails. The oil pump drive gear has been know to strip. Typically because the top part that is bolted to the block (plastic) breaks/cracks raising the drive gear off the cam and it strips. You would likely see quite a bit of metal shavings I oil though
bearing wear is the most typical reason for low/none oil pressure...
