oil pressure?

hi, i have a 94 camaro z28, what should my oil pressure be at while the car is all warmed up and at idle? when i start the car up it has like 40, then will go all the way down to 15 at the lowest at idle, then if i rev it up it will go up to around the 25-30 area, does this sound normal?

It sounds fairly normal, but could be better. The oil pressure sensors can get tired when they get old and indicate pressure a little low.

If its accurate I'd say your 3-5 lbs down...typically after being warmed up my car is about 20 or 21....have you checked to see if you're a bit low on oil? Maybe half a quart? I noticed when I was about half a quart low it was reading 18 instead of 20/21...how many miles are on the car? Your bearings could be showing a little wear but if its accurate its not bad...and shoebox also has a good point, the sensors can get old and it'll show lower then what it really is.

car has 84K miles on it, running mobil 1 10w30 oil, seems to run strong otherwise, sounds like its not much to worry about.
