Oil leaking out of Oil level sensor....

Do i just need to replace the whole sensor thats in the pan, or is this the plug in part letting it leak? its not coming from where it screws in, its coming out of the sensor itself.

Re: Oil leaking out of Oil level sensor....

Hey, any luck on what happened here?

When doing a mac header install this past weekend, i noticed the same thing happening on my 95 Z-28

So far this is the only thread I could find, but i'll keep searching.

thanks!

Jeff

perfect, thx for the info guys...

also, here's some more info/threads I dug up with further searching:

Picture of sensor

Oil Level Sensor:
GM p/n#: 24507190
$46.39 at local dealer
$26.44 from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com

Oil Level Sensor Seal:
GM p/n#: 10151633
$3.84 at local dealer
$1.28 from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com

Of course, GM Parts Direct charges $7.95 for shipping the sensor, so total cost would be $34.39.
