Is it still an LT1 intake manifold? Does it have a functional PCV valve, installed correctly and connected to the correct vacuum source? What year is your car/engine? The PCV vacuum source is not the same on all years. Why do you have a breather? Did you remove the air supply line from the throttle body to the passenger valve cover?

Helpful hint - include basic info about your car like the year, model, engine, tranny and major mods in your "signature". You can't post images in your signature, only links to those images. You have to delete the "img" tags.

i have a 96 firebird formula
lt1 stock internals
lt1 intake manifold ported to a 58 mm
and a 56mm tb
i do have a pcv valve and as far as i knew it was functioning

and i know a breather doesn't do anything for a lt1, but my brother gave it to me as a present and i put it on since even though it doesn't help it doesn't hurt it either.

But is shouldn't be "smoking" excessively. Does your PCV valve have a vacuum line running forward to the small port on the front of the intake manifold under the throttle body? Is it possible the vacuum line is cracked or broken?

it doesn't smoke a ton, but it didn't smoke at all before the new manifold, is it smoking hurting anything?

If there's smoke coming out of the breather, it either means your PCV system is not working correctdly and can not handle the blowby from a normal engine. Or it means your engine has excessive blowby and even a correctly functioning PCV system can't handle it.

In the first case - non-working PCV - you will end up with condensate and contaminants in your oil, possibly damaging bearings. In the latter case, you may need rings, have a broken ring land, etc.

Since you changed the intake, my first guess is something got screwed up on the PCV system.

alright thank you, i checked today and the pcv wasn't hooked up right
but i had a extra manifold laying around that i took parts from and fixed it.

it's not smoking from the breather anymore, but when i take the oil dipstick out and rev it a little it smokes from the dipstick a little bit, but nothing compared to before..

i shouldn't be worried should i?
thanks alot

why is your throttle body so big, car will have better throttle response with the stock 48 compared to the 56. your cam is stock it cant suck enough air to make use of the extra opening, and thus you lose throttle response.

i tried both throttle bodys and i have a little less response with the bigger throttle body, but there is deffinately more power from the 56. so it's worth it to me
