While I'm not in quite the same boat, I do have a problem with that sensor. I took it out to do my headers and broke the wires on it when I reinstalled it. If it is the oil pressure sending unit, wouldn't the gauge say I have no oil pressure, or too much oil pressure, all the time. The gauge still moves with rpms, sits normal at idle and goes about 3/4 up on accel. Its ready the same as before the headers, so what gives? Are there two of them in the car? I know there are 2 coolant temp sensors, one for the gauge and one for the ecu. Stupid cars, why not just have one? Anywho, car is a 94 with a junkyard motor SUPPOSEDLY from a 95. What other differences are there between 93 and 94/95 so I could tell for sure. I hope its the knock sensor cause then I don't have to worry about it. Just set it to 0 retard in the ecu.

I can't tell you about the 94+ but there is a 93 specific thread that is about the length of a novel. It has a lot of the differences noted between the 93 and others.

I found it...http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...4&highlight=93

As far as the oil goes....I would pour some Purple Power (available at Advance Auto) on it and let it sit for 45 min or so...then scrub it with a hard bristled brush.
