Off road or high flow cat Y-pipe with LT install?

Like the subject says. I have no smog or emissions test so nothing to worry about there. I'm just curious which would be the better direction to go. I still have the stock exhaust with a cutout so I'm curious what kind of problem that might be also. Obvious an off road would be cheaper but if it's gonna have crappy sound or anything else I might spring for the cats. But I want to make sure it's worth it, or on the other hand make sure it's not a dumb idea to go with no cats. Thanks for any input.

no emissions means you dont need cats, its cheaper and will leave you with alot more clearance under the car

I don't agree with the clearance statement.
Both my cousin and I have ORP's for our cars but we both run highflow cats for sound quality. Depending on what muffler/catback you may like it with the ORP. Right now i'm considering putting a resonator in the ORP to see if it sounds more like the cat setup.
