OBDII to OBDI??

Re: OBDII to OBDI??
I have a part of your question covered here.
As for disadvantages, there is the "high stall" issue which some cars with stalls 2800 or higher may experience and you won't be able to pass the scan test for an emission check. (if needed) You can keep your OBD2 for that though.
Overall, OBD1 is better for performance.

Re: OBDII to OBDI??
now what do u mean w/ the stall? im probably going to go w/ a 3600 or 3800 stall. so OBDI is going to mess around w/ it? if so im just not going to worry about it. the reason i want to convert is because this guy i know tunes cars on the side. the guy is amazing at what he can do.

Re: OBDII to OBDI??
OBD1 seems to have more tuners around then 2. I bought Madz's OBD1 tuned pcm for my stock setup last year. That combined with fresh plugs and injector cleaner through the gas and I was 20 RW more HP. . Great bang for the buck

This is in no way a cut at Ion, I have used him for stuff and plan to use him again in the future.
That said some tuners can tune out the OBD1 high stall issue, talk to whomever you plan to use and see what he says.
