Re: o2 sensors question

You actually have a total of 4 sensors, two pre-cat sensors and two post-cat sensors. Its the two post-cat sensors in which you will use the 02 simulators on.

Basically, once you run the long tube headers, you will not be able to use your stock y-pipe, you will have to use the off-road y-pipe which will not have catalytic converters. The rear 02 sensors are simply there to monitor the catalytic converters efficiency. By the converters not being there no more and by having an off-road y-pipe with no 02 bungs, you will need to eliminate the rear 02 sensors and by doing so, you will get an SES light. In order to avoid the SES light, you will need the 02 simulators which will simply plug into the ends of the rear 02 harness connectors and provide a "dummy" signal to the PCM that the catalytic converters are there and in working order. You can get a pair of 02 simulators from Thunder Racing and they run about 90 dollars for the pair.

The rear, square plug O2s are the ones you swap for the sims.

You use them as they are intended to be. You don't simulate them. Their input is needed for fuel delivery calculations.
