o2 sensor problem

i got a pair of borg warner oxygen sensors that i checked the model number that works with my car, and on the scan tool it is stuck on 471, instead of going up and down from 100 to 900. does that effect alot or a little? and what can i do about it?
thanks

Re: o2 sensor problem

Sounds like they aren't plugged in. Typically you will get a constant 450mV when the sensors are cold, or unplugged, or defective. Is it possible your extensions are damaged?

It will affect a lot, since it prevents the PCM from going into closed loop, disabling any "learning".

Most people opt for the OEM AC/Delco O2 sensors.

and on the drivers side i might have mixed the two similar colors, do you think that can cause all of this?

He can't use those. They are for the after-cat sensors on the OBD-II cars. He has a 95.... OBD-I and no after-cat O2 sensors. You can't use them in the pre-cat positions.
