most of the bugs of my motor swap is worked out. i thought i had a dead alt. so i swaped it with with a 2 month old one out of our other lt1. basically i am not getting any charge out of the alt. zero. my lights and car runs until the battery dies. its just not charging. none of the guages work. the lights work. also the ses light and all of the other lights never come on. only the security light comes on before startup. i moved the main ground around and have it bolted currently to the bellhousing and everything is working fine. i dont know where to even start.

Dumb question, but are you sure you connected the positive lead from the battery to the alternator? I almost forgot to do it when I swapped mine.

ok nevermind i got-er-done. it was a short to ground that was blowing my guage fuse. after i moved the ground i never checked the fuse again and without that fuse the alt will not charge.
