At one point I did think it was the harness. Luckily a GM dealership is within walking distance of my house and I went and bought the harness and told them about my problem adn they let me buy it and return it if it didnt work. You guessed it, did not work. So I returned it.
Anything else? could the dowel pin even though I already ruled it out, possibly be it? The more I think about it, with opti installed, either the rotor isnt turning, or not sending the signal. sound feasible?

I have had alot of time to THINK about what is wrong with my car..... I am 1800 miles away from it and havent been able to work on the car since end of September. The car is now at a friends house in FL and I am in ND.

Anyway, here's what I have concluded. If I manually spin the opti with it off the car, the Noid light lites up, and the car acts as if it wants to start. The cam dowel pin makes more then enough contact to spin the opti, so what could it be. The TIMING CHAIN. Anyone agree with me on this?
With the DVM all wires appeared to be good, and if I spin it manually the PCM sends the signal to the injectors which means its getting the signal from the opti, so something mechanically isnt doing its job.

Im at a loss and want my car up here and running, lol. I am flying back down there on April 1st for the sole purpose of fixing and drving the car up here.
So if not timing chain, what other part could have fuxored itself?

Thanks In Advance,
Brian

After all that, you better say what it was... (that is, if you ever want people to help you again )

I had started another thread called "wiggled opti harness, clicks" anyway, the harness from opti on pass side was bad for the most part.
We jumped the harness with 4 wires to test it, and got the noid light to light up. Then wala, she started.

At one point I had went to GM and bought the 70$ harness that starts at the opti, and that didnt fix it, it was the PCM side of the harness that was bad. We diagnosed it by checking continuity from the B2, B3, B14, B20 outputs at the PCM and where it plugs into the opti. And kept getting intermitent voltage.

LOL, that other thread has not been updated in 6 months. Not sure why you even brought that up, but glad you posted your fix. It might save someone else some aggravation.

Yes there are many threads that I found by searching that sounded just like my problem and the OP never returned to tell what fixed his problem. I cant stand it.
Thanks shbox as your site has been my bible throughout all this.
The car broke down in FL 1 week before I was moving cross country, so thats why it has taken so long to get to it. I flew down Wed night and had finally gotten it fixed 6pm Fri night. Now I am back in ND ( flew back this morning ) now I will probably go down in June or July and drive it up here.
