No oil pressure

I'm trying to pre-lube my motor by cranking the starter, but i'm not getting a reading on my oil pressure gauge. i should be getting at least a low reading or something, shouldn't I?

Re: No oil pressure

Eventually, yes. I suppose you do have all the oil pump drive parts in place. I prefer to use a mechanical pre-oiler than the starter.

Re: No oil pressure

How long would you recomend cranking the motor for? I did it 4 times for about 4-5 seconds each time. And yes, everything is in place, and all new parts.

Re: No oil pressure

I had the same problem--turned out that I was not allowing the starter to turn over long enough. Crank it for 5 to 10 seconds and you shoud see pressure (close to 20). Make sure you have the coil unplugged and the 2 fuel injector fuses removed.
