No front sway bar?

Going to the track Friday night, and I'm thinking of taking off the front sway bar. Should I take it off or just disconnect it? What's it like driving with a disconnected/removed front sway bar?

Thanks
-Matt

You might aswell just take it right off because you are probably going to bust the endlinks anyway. So order some aftermarket ones with poly bushings incase you want to put it back on right away. Taking it right off is only a few more bolts anyway and some weight off the front end and for drag racing that can't hurt. Most people say they don't notice a different except in really hard corners and it makes the car more unpredicatable as to when the back end is going to kick out around a corner. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't just disconnect it i would rip it all out. I heard it helps out in the quarter and you really don't notice it from what i heard. Instead of taking a corner at 50 u hafta take it at 30...i'm ripping mine out soon as i get my car back.

Mines been gone for 6 months now, not much difference really ........I usually run on skinnies and DRs though so I don,t take turns too fast to begin with.
Its not a shocking difference if thats what your asking.

I think it does help you to get a better weight transfer when you leave the line at the drag strip. I yanked mine and the front end feels like it wants to lift, now I must get the power to make it lift

If you're a "straight line" guy, you won't miss the front sway bar, but if you're into carving corners, it's going to handle like a pig. Even with the sway bars in place, the stock suspension is just OK for corners. A set of better springs, shocks and a 35mm front sway bar really make the car handle great. It all depends on what you're into. I've got my car setup as a "cross trainer"; I've run 11.68 in the quarter mile and can carve some pretty mean turns.
