Nitto Tire Pressure Help!

What tire pressure are you guys seeing successful with the Nitto 555R tires at the track? Also, where should i set them on the street to get the most life out of them while im not racing?

I have the 245-45-17s
Is it necessary to heat these tires up to get maximum traction?
I dont want to if i dont have to b/c i want them to last as long as possible. Any response is appreciated. Thanks

35psi on the street....

And a credible source told me you don't need to do a victorious stage with these things...just spin them for 3 secs or so and they should be ready...

i would do at least a 5 sec burnout or until u see smoke out of both tires......also if u run them with 35 psi on the street the centers will wear fast and you don't want that,u can run nittos about any psi u want it will not affect driving or handling i would run them 20- 25 psi on the street, check the psi often run 18psi at the track

I always run mine around 28psi on the street and about 18 at the track. Although my 60ft. times still sucked with them so who knows!

didn't know 35 would round hte tires out... Maybe it depends on the rim size..I dunno..my tires are the LP ones with the X11 rears...hasn't been an issue yet... but with the 275's just play around with it... "Test and TUNE!!!!!!!!"

IMO, 32 for the street, 15 for the track. Do a big 7-8 second burnout, you need to get the Nitto DR's really hot for them to stick.

At the track, you can't just "guess" which tire pressure to use if you want to hook up. Too low, and you'll lose mph. Too high, you won't hook up.

Start at, say 22psi, and do a quick spin of the tires, and measure the patch on the ground. Drop 1 - 2psi out of the tires until you get the widest patch before the tire appears to look "flat."

I found that my BFGs hook the best at 17.5psi.

I used to use about 30 on the street and it wore out my center section. I run 20-25 now, depending on how im feeling more than anything.

At the strip, 12 psi and heat the hell out of them. 1.78 with 6 speed
