Nitrous UH-OH

I had this under another thread but thought that someone might be able to help me if I posted it differently. I sprayed on my ac delco platinums the other night and it melted the **** out of them. The car was running pretty bad, so I replaced them with NGK TR6's. Even though the new plugs made it run a little better, it is still missing through out the rpm range. And is running rich still. What else could I have done??? Please no hole in the piston. Please no hole in the piston. Please no hole .......

Check all the plug wires for burns.

Disconnect the MAF and see if it still misses.

What exactly was the uh oh? A nitrous back fire through the intake perhaps? Or did you just have it jetted/hooked up wrong?

I think if you do a compression and leakdown test you'll know the health of your pistons and rings.. if they come back good then I'd say you're ok. Then just start checking for routine problems like wires arcing..

The UH-OH was running platinum plugs while spraying 150 shot. The wires didnt look bad, and I cant ever get all of them not to arc (no matter how much dielectric grease i use). Even before the problem.

A quickie check for broken rings lands - the most likely problem, if you actually damaged something - take the oil fill cap off and feel for "huffing" out the tube when the engine is idling.
