I'd get anything other than the AC Delco plugs. They have a nasty habit of losing the little platinum pucks (which go somewhere in your engine. very nice).

As for the advantages of iridium, I'm not too familiar with it, but I believe NGK has info on them on their site. If you google 'iridium spark plugs', I'm sure you'll find all sorts of stuff on them.

went with the bosch plats myself. i used the regular plug no double or quadruple tip and they made a difference. the car was still on the stock plug at 75K so it could have just been they needed to be replaced but the cost was way different. i picked up the bosch at the local pep boys for less than 2 bucks each. the ngk iridium was going to run me almost 8 bucks each. i doubt the spark / igniting of the fuel would have been 4 times greater going with the NGK.

i would just stick with regular ngk tr55 plugs...about $2 each and are well known.

you wont see any added performance from plats or irridium....specially to justify the cost

What he said.

I bought my car from a freind about a year ago (had a 93 T/A before that) and the first thing I did was change the plugs. He had the plugs changed by the dealership about a year ago and the things had about 8200 miles on em, 6 out of the 8 AC Delco replacement plugs were missing the puck off the emd of the electrode.

I allways used the V groove NGKs before that.

NGK TR5's here. Just got some NGK TR6's for the n20 kit about to go on. I have nothing but good things to say about them. And when I take the old ones out i'll post on this thread and let you know how they look. But if your in a hurry go ahead and order the NGK's. Definetly cant go wrong. Oh and i suggest thunderracing.com. Great price, go to my house in less than 3 days. I ordered them mon morning and they got here wed morning. I've always had good results ordering through Thunderracing.

Platinum and Iridium extend the life of your plug. A typical copper plug will only last 30K miles. So if you don't want to change your plugs as often, use platinum or iridium. If you're making high horsepower, the platinum plugs retain heat and can be a source for pre-ignition. That's why a lot of guys switch to NGK non-platinum plugs.

I'm running the NGK TR55's right now. That's what I would have to recommend. I also wouldn't disagree with any of the other suggestions, except for the plat. one. I have heard way to many stories about the tips falling off into the motor...

Just my .02 though...
