Newbie-esque question here
As in my sig I've got a 1995 Z28.
As I understand, there are two coolant temperature sensors. One for the computer and one for the guage.
My question is which one does what? I have a sensor mounted at the water pump and I have a sensor mounted on the left side engine block.
Also, the sensor at the water pump had two leads and the one on the side of the block has one lead. Is this right?
Thought I'd throw you guys an easy one. Thanks for the help.

Re: Newbie-esque question here
The 2-wire coolant temp sensor mounted in the water pump housing feeds the PCM. The 1-wire coolant temp sensor in the drivers side head (not block) feeds the dash gauge.
Yes. The PCM provides 5V reference on the two wires to the water pump sensor. The ground for the head sensor is the block itself, and the wire provides 12V.
