Well I suppose I must have decent running car from the factory judging from what I have read here. The only time my car has seen the track it went 13.6@104.5 with a terrible 2.20 60 ft time, that was at a track in Maryland, and with a 115K on the car and about 200 extra pounds of stereo equipment.

Mods include 4.10' out back Flowmaster muffler ( not cat back) and a short throw shifter.

I have been to Denver in my car, I grew up there. I went to visit my Parents and let me tell you about the time I got of I-70 and hit the first redlight it fell on it's face BAD. I would have had a hard time barking 2nd with 4.10's so I know how bad the air is there with out tunning for it.

I made 351rwhp and 340rwtq @ 11.0-11.5 A/F with home ported heads and shorties chattery rockers (a.k.a. knock retard for sure). Granted, you have stock heads, but you also have LT's. I ran at the track with taht setup for one run and I spun till 3rd gear (2.3 60' and kept spinning till 65mph). I kept feathering 2nd gear and the tires just didnt want anything to do do with it. Once I chirped 3rd it hooked and I pulled 109mph on street tires. I only pulled 83.5mph in the 1/8th cuz I spun so bad. I should have easily hit 112mph+ if I could hook even a little. Not to mention it rained while we were leaving the track so the humidity was up @ 100%. Your best on street tires is 110mph, and thats only spinning a little in 1st and then hooking the rest of the way (I've watched your videos). I trapped 1 mph less spinning till 3rd. You guys just havent seen enough cars with the cams, plain and simple. How about beast or Kmook who ran the XE230/236 who were at or above 400rwhp? The average I am seeing with Lloyd's heads and the XE230/236 is in the 380'srwhp with shorties and slightly more with LT's. There have been several XE224/230 guys putting down 375-385rwhp with ported heads.

Time sounds ok, considering a near 6000 ft elevation.

Bandemiere is in the foothills of the Rockies, actually it's near Red Rocks State Park.

It's got to be higher than Denver (5280 ft elev.)...

I am also running in the heat in AZ with 100% stock tuning - I trapped 108.8 on street tires with the old shorties. I know Beast's car ran pretty well - so there are a few exceptions.

On average, the XE grinds haven't performed as well as the 'normal' 305/306 etc. grinds.

I actually know quite a few people here with XE grinds. Two of my friends have the XE 236/242 in their strokers...they both trap 112. Another friend, XE 230/236, Hooker LTs, drag radials, tuning etc....trapped 107.4 the same night I was trapping 110.8. I even drove his car and still trapped 107 the same night.

I'm not saying the cams are total ****, but on average I haven't been too impressed. That's just my own opinion, so take it as just that.

I am not starting a flame war. Just wanted to let you know that there are some strong runners and some not so strong runners. Those guys trapping 112mph in strokers and that big a cam should set it on fire. Hotcam stroker cars run faster than that. They have something wrong with their setup. Even the guy that traps 107mph. I was trapping high 105's with bolt-ons and street tires. I understand you have heat down there, but think about it. Strokers running a ONLY a little faster tahn a stock headed, stock bottom LT1 (yours). Just doesnt sound right if there cars were up to par. Heat kills and so doesnt humidity. I still trapped 109mph in 100% humidity spinning all of first and all of 2nd. Just wanted to let you know. Either way, we both have cars that will get up and go.

Damn if i had a stroker and was trapping 107 or 110 id be sad. I trapped 115 with ported heads and that xe 230/236 on a stock bottom end.

Who said anything about their strokers trapping 107-110?

If I had a h/c car that trapped 114-115, I'd also be sad.

It all depends on the cam. I could see a head/hotcam run 114mph and that would be good numbers. A cam like mine should be more like 116-117mph, and a 306 should be around 118-119mph. Right now your at 110, so with ported heads (which would give you about 40-50rwhp) would approximately equal 114-115mph traps. I wouldnt go saying its pitiful yet. I have yet to see a hotcam or cc305 N/A run faster than 114mph. Maybe I havent seen or read enough, but thats where it stands. I should hope you or Kreinmc get heads soon so we can see.

First off, I probably won't put heads on top of my CC305.

Secondly, my car trapped 110.8 with no tuning and in the middle of the summer in AZ. The car WILL go at least 112 w/a tune and decent weather. I know this is bench racing and I don't generally make claims, but I know it will trap at least 112.

I should have heads in the next few months. We will see.
