Angry new problem w/ 95 z28

hello, again guys...im here with a new problem.... the car has been running perfect since last week....i had been having problems with it and finally came to the conclusion that my cat converter was screwed....so i took it to th muffler shop and took it out then replaced with a section of pipe...after that the car ran perfect for the last week...well i was driving last night and all of sudden it started backfiring and popping then died.......got it started then rumbled, acted like it was about to die, then did...well usually it will crank right back over but not this time....i cranked on it 5-7 times and would do nothing...i turned th car off for a minute then tried again but this time it wouldnt turn at all....lights flashed door locks went crazy and there was a strong burnt wire or circuit smell under the hood....so i parked it at my cousins house and came home...

what could it be.... does it sound like the computer is fried or something...

sounds like a harness melted, go under the hood and inspect the harnesses, paying close attention to the ones near the exhaust
