this is sort of a stupid question but i got to know...um if i decide to bore my cylinder walls, will i need new pistons? anything else? and what can the price run?
also, what kind of power increase will this result in?

 

Yes you will need new pistons. Look at your other thread, I posted a link to a rebuild kit which includeds new forged pistons. It should have everything you need.

 

Simply boring the cylinders say 0.030" over (and buying new piston and rings) will not affect power in any significant way, if you don't change anything else. +5 cubic inches is a minor change. You make more power when you burn more fuel, and to burn more fuel, you need more air. A good set of ported heads, and a cam selected to match the heads' capabilites, is where increased power will be made. Supporting mods to the intake and exhaust required.
