Question new guy=is this safe

hi everyone,great reading all the threads ive learnt allot from all your help.i have a brand new 383 stroker in my car it has 11.5 comppresion,cc503 cam.30lb injectors.58mm throttle body and all the fix'nz.i havent turned the key on yet and am wondering is it safe too light my car up with a stock computer,i wont get my tunercat till next week.....any help would be appreciated.

You could start it if you wanted to. I could run rich/lean until you get the new program in. The only real thing you have to worry about it is it running so rich it kills the O2's.....

Start it up!

Not really relevant. But a big :thumbsup: on being able to resist turning it on.. I wouldve cranked it up with half of it disconnected just to hear it rumble

When you run excessively rich, you run the risk of washing the lubrication off the cylinder walls, and diluting the crankcase oil.... not the kind of thing you want to do with a brand new engine.

Yep, what Injuneer said and remember, you WILL run RICH with those 30# injectors on the stock tune.

I'd wait until you get it tuned and then do the brake-in at the same time.

Why do you have that tiny cam for a 383? I mean you spend all that money on the motor to choke it off with a cc503?
