New to Camaros....quick question

I recently bought a 95 z28 with a blown engine, I have a chance to get an LT1 from a 96 corvette and I just want to make sure before I drop the money on it that it will work in my camaro with little effort. I have been reading everything I can on the subject but I keep finding conflicting information. Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: New to Camaros....quick question

Why not have the blow engine rebuilt ??? Make it fast-n-loud...
The engines are the same but the 96 may have some more connectors / sensors ????being OBDII
don't take my word on this wait for one of the resident experts to confirm this ......

Re: New to Camaros....quick question

Most of it is the same engine assuming the 96 is a LT1. Engine block on the Vette is 4 bolt mains vs. the Camaro block's 2 bolt mains. The heads are the same - maybe different casting numbers - and the cam is close. The 96 is OBD2 and 95 is OBD1, but you can use your wiring & computer, and then put in the 95 knock sensor and fuel rails, then not hook up the crank sensor on the new engine. You'll need your accessory bracket and your peripherals. Not sure about the damper pulley and the oil pan.
