New Cam - Won't Stay Running

Help again. I've just installed a cc306 cam and when I start the car it idles up to 2 or 3 grand and then dies. It all happens within about 2 seconds. I've installed a new program from pcmforless and that didn't really help a whole lot. I adjusted the screw on the throttle body and now the car will stay running but still doesn't sound right. Should you even adjust this screw? Help.

If timing was off car would not likely reach that high of an idle. Should just sputter and die (possibly backfire). Is EVERYTHING hooked up at this point? MAF sensor plugged in?

Something to consider is intake is not sealed allowing too much air to get in - subsequently your MAP reading wouldn't be right based on how much air the MAF is reporting entering the engine. This would likely kill the engine too if hte leak is too big.

You should not have to touch the screw. Sounds like you have air coming in from somewhere other than the throttle body. Check everything on your intake.

couldn't the air intake elbow cause this problem? I mean, if it wasn't fully on around the bottom of the tb? So, air would by-pass the maf.

The idle air controller is still going to prevent the air from entering the engine through the throttle body.

Re: New Cam - Won't Stay Running

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll double check for any vacuum leaks but I don't think there are any. Does anybody have a copy of a cvs. file that I can look at to see if everything is reading right? Thanks for any help.
