Post Need Your input on this.

I am planning to purchase a 93-95 Z-28 and swap out the stock engine for an LS-6 crate motor. I am pretty sure it will be an easy swap with exception of the wiring harness and a new computer. I believe if I stick with a manual trans this to will facilitate the project. I have heard that this motor has enough to power to twist a t-top car, what do you guys think?? Any input on any area of this swap would be greatly appreciated. When I am all done my hope is to create something along the lines of the ZL-1 camaro GM considered building..

You will need the K-member from an LS1 F-Body. You will need new motor mounts. You will need to adapt the radiator for the "standard" cooling flow in the LS6 (vs. "reverse flow" cooling in the LT1). If you have a 6-speed, you will need a complete LS1 T56 from an F-Body, with the bell housing, clutch and clutch hydraulics. Obviously, you need the complete PCM and wiring harness from the LS6, and you might have a few dash interface problems.

Also not sure if there might be a hood clearance problem.

99% of these problems would be eliminated if you just bought a 98.

[EDIT]ooooops... forgot a few things. New fuel system... the LT1 uses a "recirculated" pressure control system, operating at 43.5psi. The LS6 will use a "dead ended" pressure control system, operating at 58psi. Might want to swap out the front springs to account for 100# less weight with the aluminum engine. Don't forget a set of headers.... can't use the ones for an LT1.....

Are you talking about the 1970 454 LS6?
