Dumb question but have you tried one of those chrome filter things that replaces the cap?

My car came with one, it sounds like it would solve both of your problems?

You should probably ask this over in the FI board, You will probably get more help. I have an Vortech and I run the PCV line to the intake and also have a breather on each valve cover. If iI eliminate 1 of the above I also have some excess pressure leaking out around the oil fill and breather, for what it's worth my car seems to like 2 breathers and the PCV to the intake.
