Talking whatchu guys think of these wheels?

i got these wheels off ebay just recently..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2433481596

they are hp evo 18x8's with a 38mm offfset, so they should have about the same external look of those 17x9.5 wheels with a 56mm offset... i have only seen these same wheels(only 19's vice 18's) on one other car..

good ol' TA25th's car:
http://ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=362335

i am looking to have the rear wheel widened to at least 9" this x-mas...maybe 10"

i have hotchkis 1" drop springs on the way, so i think they will fill the wheel well nicely(the sportlines are outta here...)

but anyways, lemme know what you think..

I think I would picture that type of style on something like a WRX or something like that more than an F-Body....

I agree. Dont let know one talk you out of those. Only thing... they are too skinny. 8" is not enough at all on f-bodys. You need those he has on that Firebird. Now those are sweet.

Thumbs up

first off, thanks for the comments,

those wheels being 8" wide was the prime factor holding me back, but i have had my eye on these wheels for about 8 months now... HAD to get em... i have heard good things about wheel widening, and since i dont want to pound on the body to get some 17x11 or 18x11 wheels to fit(its a vert), i figure a 10-10.5" wide wheel on the back will suffice... so, i will drive around until, oh, say nov-dec with some skinnies(prolly 255/40's) then i will be able to appropriatly throw some heftier meat on the back when i get the work done...

a thought i had, since it has an offset of 38mm, vice the 50mm of most zr1 17x11 wheels, do you guys think that it would clear the problem areas and possibly allow an 18x11 on the back? i am trying to do the math, but i would like to doublecheck it w/you guys..

thanks again...

When I was shopping for wheels it was tough to find the 5x4.75 pattern, ofcourse there are dozens with the 120mm spacing. The 120mm is 0.026" off of the 4.75 pattern, I know some of you all use them anyway but IMO I feel much better spending the extra $500 on vette wheels than having to pay hundredrs in repairs down the road plus the inconvience of your wheels falling off on the interstate. Has anyone had any problems?
